China: 15,000 dead, 26,000 buried under debris

Thats the headline  on CNN this morning.

That’s mind-boggling.

When planes hit the WTC, killing 3000 Americans, it became a national tragedy and changed the world forever.  China loses 12, 000 more with the potential for many many many more and nobody bats an eye.

I weep for my planet.

I bid thee farewell Windows Movie Maker…*wave wave*

I’ve found the Holy Grail of machinima makin’ and I’m movin on up, to the big time, gonna get a dee-luxe apartment in the sky.

Man, I spent 3 days trying to get my Bulls movie to render .. rippin my damned hair out, growing fresh new ulcers as I tried over and over to get WMM to render my footage.  I had to render it so small its barely viewable.

Well, no more!

Spent a few hours last night going through Sony Vegas Movie Studio and now I’m leavin WMM and takin the kids with me.

SVMS is a bit more complex than WMM but it does a lot more and will make my movies (pathetic as they are) much better looking and much easier to actually view..:)

*wild cheering*

And into the future we go….

I spent most of this past weekend trying to finish my Runnin of Da Bulls movie, to no avail.

The run went well… I got there at 11am (race started at 4pm) and found a few other hardy souls already there there well before me.

I did manage to score an official purple run shirt though, so being early was kinda cool.  Got some amazing footage, both of the race and the build up towards it at the beginning.  400 level 1 taurens is quite a sight!

Lag was horrible as you might expect… got through that and through the first third of the race when I started getting FRAPS warning alerts saying I was running out of diskspace.  Stopped running, and deleted a pile of old files but alas, that put me out of the running for good.

Anyway,. got the movie done but now it just refuses to render…its too big and I am finding it very hard to tell the tale of te race with a smaller film.  Sigh.

I will keep bashing on it I guess.

Happy Monday everyone.

7:30 am on a Monday morning.

God, why are you so cruel.  *yawn*

Went shopping yesterday, and against my better judgement, I bought a couple of new games:

Team Fortress 2

Amazing game but way too fast paced for this old guy to keep up with.  Graphics are decent, but I am not sure I like the cartoony style.  Enjoyable though.  I like to pay Engy’s and Fatties… the sentry guns seemed to be too easy to destroy but it was fun anyway.

Battlefield 2142

I’ve played most of the Battlefield series and this one is pretty decent too.  Lots of cool action, but the game is not very forthcoming with how to do certain things..like how to restock ammo from an ammo box.  Damned if I can figure it out.   Havent quite figured out how to throw frags either.. cant find them on my character anywhere.  otherwise I really enjoyed the Single Player version.

Havent tried the multiplayer (other than awhile back I played on the demo servers) but I will be!

One thing though, the pace is frenetic in these games… I would not recommend  for older players who may be ‘past their prime’…lol…

As some of you know I make World of Warcraft movies… with FRAPS and Windows Movie Maker for editing.  Problem is WMM is really limited.

Was surfing the web earlier and discovered the Sony Vegas Movie Studio for only 75 bucks online… I am downloading it now! Woohoo!  Hopefully this will give me a lot more transitions and better titling for my movies.

You can view my movies at:

I am far from a Pro but I really like playing around with the editing stuff and its paid off since I use the same skills for making video tutorials now at work.

Slick huh…:)

Ive been gathering footage from various guild runs for a new guild movie soon, plus I am hoping to record the Running of the Bulls event on the Cenarion Circle WoW server (see the Big Red Kitty blog for more details) on May 3rd.

The race has been dedicated to a member of BRK’s guild who passed away suddenly in the last day or two, so I have created my level 1 Tauren in her name.  BRK is hoping for 500 Taurens to show up, should be fun to see if they get all 500.

Hopefully i can get some great footage and create a movie worthy of Sharvan, whom the race is now dedicated to.

Later folks…:)

Haven’t figured out why I like these two vids so much…meh… just watch them:

Torn

Guitar

I think I watch these two more than any vids on YouTube. Torn is brilliantly funny, Guitar is just godly tune-age.

ENjoy.

Blah.. it’s 6:20am.

No one should have to be up this early.

*yawn*

There should be a law against morning.

Coffee is a-cookin’ though so it isnt all bad. Coffee good… morning bad.

Hi everyone,

As you can see I finally gave in and decided to start a simple blog..no frills, no special hoodickeys, just a place to jot the occasional thought about me and my life with Maggie the cat.

Since I am still in the middle of setting things up this will be short, but I did want to mention that if you are looking for my semi-famous HTML help pages (HTM-Hell) there is a link over there on the right. Enjoy!

Ok, back to the blog installation…:)
